Feature and Follow #3

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Today's question:

What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can't deal with bad editing?

Well I'm a little bit meticulous while reading a book and I always find a lot of little details that have the ability to seriously annoy me; but what irritates me the most is love at first sight! Really guys, who are we kidding? Love is way more complicated than that and that's what makes every story different from the other. That's the reason why I don't like romantic romances (even if I love those who are well-developed) because by now, they're all pretty much the same: love at first sight, who changes the bad guy completely because he has finally found the girl of his life. Things like this can happen but I think these are very unlikely situations that can happen once in a while; yes, I'm very cynical LOL
Of course I also hate books written with the feet! I really like to read something well written and also a little challenging; on the opposite, I detest authors who write with a too familiar language, with a lot of "slang" words and jargons.

  1. Absolutely true! I would prefer reality instead of unlikely situations!! ^^

  2. Hate, hate, HATE insta-love. I ranted about it last week, so I will keep it to a minimum here. But did I mention I hate it?

  3. I believe in insta-like (had that with my hubbie), but I agree insta-love takes it too far. People are way more complicated than your first impression of them.
